Yes, both systems are from Panasonic. They are literally down the street from me in So Cal (as is Thales and other niche players in IFE). A friend works @ Panny and I gave him a bad time for the reboots required on both my flights (A380 and 744). The A380 also had a "seat lockup", the touch screen for my F seat locked up. We were on descent into MEL and the F/A had to manually return the seat to the landing position. He felt it quicker than doing a reboot of the seat controller.
