That's the interesting thing -- both programs seem to lack incentive for those that are already giving AA lots of business.

Is this because they figure that if you have already hit 125k for the year that you probably fly them for the routes or other fundamental reason that keeps you from switching? (I.e., they can't actually stimulate incre, mental trips from most of those folks.) Or, is it a promo design issue (a la DBNYC not rewarding flying as much as it rewards your choice of address) that overlooks their most loyal customers? Loyal customers at a time when every filled seat matters. I know that loyal is not synonmous with profitable.

The Elite Rewards really suffers the most here. Why not add levels at 125, 175, 225, 300, 400, 500k etc. with increasingly valuable gift choices? (If you hit 300 you'd only get the choices at 300, not 125+175+225+300 levels, of course.)

I'm not complaining, I'll hit 125 and top out just beyond that. So this is not about me getting more freebies. It's about making sure AA does things to promote as much incremental flying as they can.

Just curious.
