I've booked a UA trip YEG-KIX in mid-Nov. and liking them for other recent trips, bought a DK Eyewitness Japan guide, which is really 75% a Tokyo guide with a few others cities included in brief in the back. I probably won't pay for a Michaelin Green Guide as it probably wouldn't get here in time to use but was somewhat surprised more guide book series don't feature this Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe region.
