I thought I was under the radar! It was a little more headache dealing with SMS but I made PM for 2009 based on one flight to MUC (5 seats) but got 100k skymiles for it and 50k MQMs.
Plus it added up to 500k miles earned over 2 years I used for family to BKK, SLC, and VYR for vacas...
The PM and DM benefits add up when you multiply across family members (baggage fees alone)!!! Yeah, starting to plan for next trip(s). If I compete or coach at the Games in Feb, no problem; otherwise, I need to buy 6 tix on my next outbound, globetrotting RT or 11 for DM...
Here's the defense. If you pay $500 for a ticket and get 100 or 125% bonus that's around 25k miles. good for one award trip for the kids later... that's for every seat. Now factor in the benefits of getting and maintaining PM/DM. Now add in OPups to 1st bc YOU have 6 inventory seats to "Double SELL"... I like it.
Plus, I like the extra food, one meal for every seat if I don't get upgraded!!!
The only downsides are the headaches getting the credit and the occassional FA - why the ___ do you need 6 seats??
