I know that tourism is sufferring in Thailand but did not see a similar rate at any of the other Starwood hotels, so I went ahead and booked it for the 2 nights I plan to be in Bangkok. I got a confirmation for the rate, and it turned out to be one of their huge suites, the Rajah Suite. So I did some more searching for other dates and found that the Rajah Suite was available at the rate of 2,900 THB on weekends in January, but a STANDARD room was 6,000 THB, so obviously I had booked an ERROR rate.
I received an email from the reservation manager this morning that the rate was in error and that the regular rate for the Rajah Suite is approx. 26,000 THB per night, but as a nice gesture, they will let me book it at 23,000 THB per night, or for a 10% discount..
Now I know that the rate is in error but also know that there could not have been more than one or two people who got to book at this error rate and NOT for more than 2-3 nights each, as the rate was ONLY available for weekends in January..
I thought that the hotel/SPG should just correct the error and honor the rate, especially since I have been a previous guest at this hotel. If NOT, then they should offer me a better deal than a 10% discount over their regular rate!! May be offer me another smaller suite at the same rate!!

Am I being unreasonable?

As you thought it was for a room when you booked (or at least that is the way I am reading your email)- ask them to confirm for you a deluxe room or a junior suite at the rate you booked- that should be reasonable to both parties.
