just want to share a very positive experience with EK.

I was booked in U class for HAM-DXB-SIN and back SIN-CMB-DXB-HAM.

I originally intended to spend a few hours in CMB and DXB on the way back to have a look at the cities. However I eventually noticed that I was a complete idiot by booking a CMB layover from 2am to 10am. And another layover in DXB from 12pm to 9am, which would have been fine.

So on the night of the departure I went to SIN and asked if they could rebook me on the direct SIN-DXB flight and one day earlier on the DXB-HAM flight. Unfortunately both the direct flight and the CMB-DXB leg of my original flight were overbooked. So I had to stay with my original routing. Upon arriving in CMB I immediately went to the transfer desk (all the personell was female and spoke excellent english and was competent). I was told again the flight was full: 310/310 in Y and 42/42 in C. Should would check again with the gate once boarding was nearly completed. So she did and eventually I was even upgraded to C and got the very last seat on a completely full flight. We arrived in DXB early and I once again went to the transfer desk to ask if I could get on the DXB-HAM flight one day early. My ticket said changes would cost 100 EUR but he rebooked me for free.

Of course I thought my bag would arrive at the same time I did but guess what: the CMB staff must have managed to find my bag in the 20min window between when I was rebooked until we pushed back. Also the DXB staff successfully managed to get the bag on the plane.

On board service was as agreat as the ground staff!
