Maybe, maybe not. I'm a bit heavy myself but travel light, never over 20kg even on a two week trip. My former girlfriend had no problem packing 35 kg for a 7-day trip and she is about 60 kg.

But to be realistic, the airline must draw the line somwhere and hopefully be consistent. I agree that one lousy kg should be tolerated.
