Whilst "caveat emptor" applies, I do have a little sympathy with the OP. When booking award tickets with CX, in my experience, the deadline given is always "5pm HK time on <some date>" so I would be surprised to see them gone at 4pm. Having said that, if specific hours are important to you then you need to get them specified.
