I made 2 reservations with Cathay last week and was told that I have to issue the ticket by August 31. Just called Cathay at 4:30pm 8/31 to issue the tickets and was told that my 2 reservations were cancelled because "our system automatically cancelled the reservations by 4pm." But the agent has never informed me about the 4pm deadline and I assumed it's just end of working day.

I tried to asked them to reinstate the reservations and am getting no where. Cathay told me that if I am not satisfied with the much higher fare, I can buy tickets from another airline. But that's not the issue: Cathay promised my fare will be guaranteed until August 31. I did exactly Cathay asked me to do and Cathay is not honoring their commitment to a customer.

I asked to talk to the supervisor and was refused 5 times: "The supervisor won't talk to you because that won't change anything."

Have fellow FTers encountered similar situations? Is there a way for Cathay to reinstate my reservation? Thanks a lot for your advices.
