I've just cancelled a forthcoming Halekulani stay in favour of the Royal Hawaiian.
Yes, Halekulani has higher service levels and nicer rooms. But it is a high rise occupying almost all of its tiny pocket of land, and the beach and pool are tiny.
How can you beat the Royal's beach or its gardens after dark?
Even Jerry went there in Tom and Jerry, and that's good enough for me!
