With UA let me change the flights to include the earlier connection? What would they charge for doing this? The "web-site" says that I can't talk to UA about a change, that I will have to go back to my travel agent to initiate a change.

If I stick with my original #881 BOS-NRT flight, and the upgrade does not clear by the time we leave boston, are we simply not-getting the upgrade on the ORD-NRT flight at that point, or are we still waitlisted for the ORD-NRT upgrade and have a fair chance at any business seats left? I'm concerned that if we don't clear all the way, we will NOT be given the option to re-trying in ORD due to the direct flight issue...
