I snagged 7 nights at the Grand Flora Dec 27-Jan 3 (2008-2009) at the old award rate before the "5 star" European hotels for Marriott went up to the 8th award level. I tried to book this hotel for months before the trip but it was never available. I eventually got the lowest award rate about a week before the trip.

I have to agree with the others. I was incredibly disappointed by this hotel. I was only thankful I actually got to book it and stay at the hotel at the old award rate because this hotel is definitely not worth anymore points than I spent. Even at level 7 it was awful.
