Must be a specific problem today. Yesterday morning was fine, with only a 5 min queue at S Security using normal queue (FastTrack was a lot longer).

Where the system seems to founder completely is that it has no flexibility. When things get bad at LGW or T3, they wave people past the shoe screen and only check people for that randomly.

What about that for the whole security process: when necessary ? Use some sensible profiling. Stressed parents from home counties with 4 small kids and a stroller, or elderly couple (from wherever) in their eighties, could surely be waived through. Please do not abuse me as a racist when I say this ...

Some common sense could surely be brought to bear though. How about waiving some people through and having some random spot checks when boarding the aircraft as well (as the used to do in T4). Just some common sense and not the completely relentless inflexibility.

Anyone listening ???
