I've been upgraded to a suite on 3 out of my last 4 stays (only 1 or 2 night stays during the week). The suites are a lot better than the regular rooms, whether pool/cabana or otherwise. But they're still tired, gloomy old rooms stuffed with old furniture, retro TVs etc. Value for money is generally very poor compared with the Conrad or St Regis. Only worth staying here to collect multi stay awards. The Sheraton lounge is very nice (fairly crummy wine and food, though) - much better than the wine tasting option provided at the St Regis. I also take a perverse enjoyment in listening to the fairly terrible lounge singers in the main bar area.
