Some years back a BA A320 had a very hard landing (3.2g) at LHR after encountering windshear (it would have been harder had it not been for the skill of the captain). It is reputed the only part of the aircraft that needed changing was the First Officers seat cover!

That said, a repeated pounding of the airframe with heavy landings is likely to lead to a reduced lifespan in the long run.
