I should add that I was fine with it, as my kids are perfectly capable of amusing themselves on a 3 hour flight, but the other passengers made an offer to switch without us even asking.
There are nice people in this world as hard as it is to believe. And even nicer of you to not bother them in the first place.
If you dont want to give up your seat, then dont. But the attitude of some people here who claim it is the end of the world if someone even politely asks you to switch is right on par with the ones who sit in someone else's seat and expect that person to move. It is indeed amazing the thought some of the others have put in this meager day to day situation as if they have been greatly disturbed from their otherwise, quite possibly meaningless, life.
