I don't think that any of the services you've named are actually "landlines" in the sense that Verizon is. They are all VoIP solutions of some sort.

I've used Vonage for over 6 years now (I've never had Verizon service in this apartment) and I'm quite happy with it. My need for service is incredibly minimal so the few times we've had quality issues I've just switched to my cell if necessary.
