Who paid for the ticket or whose account the ticket displays in has nothing to do with who gets credit for the miles. I've frequently added my boyfriend's, or mother's, or coworker's reservation to my account, just so I can see it in the same place as mine. Anyone can do that if they know the confirmation number and last name.

The only person who can earn FF miles for the flight is the person who is actually flying.
