If your goal is to fly on points to Asia, you might want to consider having some means to earn you more points other than flying, such as credit card use. 60K miles won't get you any where in Asia.
Don't know much about UA. But bear in mind they block certain flights from redemption. So redemption wise, AC would be better because apparently AC doesn't block any available *A reward flights.
Lounge access flying AC would be easier to achieve because you'd get *G status with as little as 35K miles.
