Bags can be moved quickly. No so with people.

It's one thing to have all the bags loaded onto the wrong aircraft, but how about all the passengers being loaded onto the wrong aircraft? It did happen to me.

At EWR a few years ago, sometimes passengers would get on a bus which would shuttle them out to the aircraft. Of course boarding passes were scanned at the gate (door) before we got on the bus. You guessed it, the bus brought us to the wrong aircraft.

We all boarded, binned our bags, belted in and as we started to taxi, the pilot welcomed us on board the flight to Cleveland. We all thought it was a joke - but soon we realized he wasn't kidding. We were ALL on the wrong flight.

It took more than 45 minutes to sort it all out.

And sadly, JFK T4 folks really do need a seminar. I have never seen a more unhappy bitter group of employees. Not every one of them, of course. But bad employee attitude is very contagious. Just as a smile, quiet voice, and friendly greeting is also contagious.
