I took advantage of the instant gold offer that Hilton sent to me. A second account was mandatory and now I am Double Gold. I just checked into my favorite Hampton Inn, it occured to me that I only received ONE Hampton Touch amenity when it should have been TWO, one for each account. My complaints for a second KitKat were met with blank stares. Glancing at the 100% satisfaction guarantee printed on my key card, I was finally offered an apple. Aggrevated, I went back to the room where genius struck once again. If Gold status requires 16 stays and Diamond 28, and I am Double Gold, then shouldn't I be instant Diamond? The hhonors rep on the phone could not follow my logic. Do they ever?
I just may have to move my business elsewhere!!

Obviously, there are varying standards as to the application of status recognition; sorry to hear you weren't recognized appropriately,
michaelr. I did, in fact, receive two tasty snacks--one Kit Kat and, as a change of pace, a packet of M&Ms. (They were plain rather than peanut, but I let it go...)
The four bottles of water were nice, but it serves to double the frequency of bathroom breaks

. I was also able to double my late check-out, bringin it up to 8 p.m. The only things that I couldn't clear up was double stay credit, double night credit, and two papers each day (one to read and the other just to brag about receiving), but I have faith that they'll come through...let's keep our fingers crossed.
