Internet security at Hilton

I am staying at a FS Hilton.

The last stay, when I tried to connect to the hotel high speed internet service, I received a message indicating that the service providor did not have a valid security certificate. This has never been an issue here before.

So, instead, I used my slightly slower AT&T air card (which I purchased sometime ago due to the unreliability of Hilton internet connections). I subsequently shared my concern about the insecure internet service with hotel management.

Now, two weeks later, I am back at the same hotel. Same problem.

This time, I called tech support for the internet service provider. They told me that they are no longer going to pay the Microsoft license fee to get the security certificate.

So, my complimentary internet connection at this Hilton is only available if I am willing to risk an an insecure connection (or, probably more accurately, an even more insecure than normal connection).

Has anyone else had this problem at other Hilton properties?

This is the 9th trip that my team has made to this hotel in the last 12 months, three of us each time. We'll be back to this area at least four more times this year.

I am about 3 stays away from requalifying for Diamond. I don't need to return to this property if I cannot get a secure internet connection. Tomorrow, I start convincing my two associates that we go elsewhere from here forward.

HHonorsRepresentative, if you are monitoring this thread, this situation is just not tolerable.
