I've stayed at both the Pentagon City and the Rosslyn Residence Inns (just got back from Rosslyn). The Pentagon City Residence Inn has a pool- that might be a good thing for the kids. Also, I'm pretty sure the Pentagon City serves wine during the evening reception- that might be a good thing for you. Residence Inn Rosslyn does not have a pool or serve wine. There is a Safeway and CVS a few blocks away. I did not see any maintainance issues while I was there- the staff was wonderful- very nice and helpful.
