Is this something that KVS has done, or United (or someone else)? As far as I know, unlike other airlines, UA's "UP" fares have nothing to do with economy.
As mentioned in the FAQ.KVSTool.com, deeply discounted premium fares (particularly those that a priced at less than full Y) may, occasionally, show-up in Economy fare searches.
The xUP fares were designed to confuse accountants; sometimes they confuse the reservation systems (and airline agents) too
