I'm told that once upon a time you could walk into the airport and ask a ticket desk what flights were about to leave with empty seats and could you buy a seat in any of them for cheap.

Is there anything like that today? I just finished a job and have a month before I start a new one. I'm based near Heathrow and could show up there tomorrow and go just about anywhere in the world.
