Can someone please explain the placement of CDG duty-free re immigration/passport?
I know the French have their own logic but this one escapes me:
Had to declare duty free purchases while leaving from CDG. After getting through the 45 minutes of immigration line I asked where the duty free counter is and was told it was BEFORE IMMIGRATION - actually right at the departure entrance. Had to "leave the country" ,get our duty free stuff done and then waste another 45 minutes going back through immigration. ( Having to answer questions of why we spent only 20 minutes outside of France)
My question is that anyone can buy a Rolex watch for a French friend, get the duty free discount, and than hand the watch over to him in the bathroom before going through immigration.
Am I missing something?
