Something I have noticed in the past couple of days is that (for UA), all the "UP" fares that book into A now only only show up when searching for economy fares.

Is this something that KVS has done, or United (or someone else)? As far as I know, unlike other airlines, UA's "UP" fares have nothing to do with economy.
