I'd not go with the 28" model that has the rigid bottom compartment. This is a hybrid and kind of a marketing ploy. It will cost you dearly in weight. It weighs 6kg and has a volume of 107 l, whereas the bigger 30" model 685 only weighs 4.3kg and has a volume of 126 liters. So you get basically 20% more volume with 30% less weight. Plus the 685 model is $150 or so cheaper...It also beats the Eagle Creek competitor...
I was feeling pretty good and smug about my fav brand beating out various competitors,

and I was beginning to look around for any sale deals, when I noticed a fatal flaw in BR 685: It does not have a pull-up metal handle. See
http://www.ebags.com/briggs_riley/ba...?modelid=82499. This means I won't be able to carry another bag on top of it easily. Darn!
So back to square one on this. Fortunately there is no real rush, I can wait. Should have gotten the Valoroso during the few minutes it lasted.

but I did think it seemed too heavy. At present, the Bravo at $230 and Revolution XT at $120 you mention would seem to be the best deals. (Spread over at least 10 years I'd use this, the price difference does not seem so great and if Bravo is better designed, I could just go with that.)
