We chose the Ritz Carlton (a Four Seasons Hotel). The Suite was spectacular, offered an incredible view of the Air and Water Show as well as the Navy Pier Fireworks, the service was delightful, and we were well pleased (with the exception of one In Room Dining Meal that was spectacularly awful).

We walked over to The Drake and I'm amazed at how this property has declined. The carpet in the lobby was worn, the entire hotel smelled like mildew and smoke, and upon entering I immediately encountered a strange attitude from employees that was almost "We're doing you a favor by letting you be in our hotel."

We ate in the Drake's seafood restaurant and it was acceptable .... not great.

Such a tragedy that a hotel icon is being allowed to decline.
