i think it's a great use of miles. one can probably make a good cost ineffectiveness argument of it using cost/mile analysis. but cash-free purchase of something you're gonna get anyway is a winner, especially when using an easy to generate resource such as miles/points.
too bad e-rewards no longer has the WSJ redemption option.
