Flightpoints match points earned by spending on the same card 1:1. This means you effectively receive two ThankYou points per dollar unless your spending (measured in dollars) is greater than your flying (measured in miles).

When you stay at a Starwood hotel you receive three points from the hotel plus two points from the credit card. You would still receive three Starpoints if you paid with another card.
