Sorry if this has been asked before but i have tried searching the forums and have had no luck.
Am trying to plan a 5 continent explorer ticket to leave in November. Due to the routings, my desired route involves 17 segments. I was originally told that the max is 16 so was planning on buying a seperate flight. However, page 3 of the rule sheet suggests that it is possible for me to buy an extra segment for a charge of £75- which would turn out to be a little cheaper and a lot less hassle. I spent 2 hours on the phone to BA this morning and no-one seemed to have a clue what i was talking about. I directed them to page 3 of the rule sheet and now have to wait a few days before ringing them back while they investigate.
I was hoping someone here could shed some light on the matter? Am i interpreting the rules right?
Also, if this is possible then what charges are involved?
Thanks in advance for your help

Unfortunately, you can only buy extra segments within a continent at the expense of a segment somewhere else. 16 (counting surface segments) is the maximum.
You can't buy the extra segment within the continent of origin.
