Should I ask for my points?

Here is what I think a sticky question.

I was scheduled to fly in Y class with my son YVR-YEG-YXE. I was flying on Tango + and my son on tango. I bought a MLL pass ($30 + GST) as I am only a AP*P! I booked this specific flight as we get that extra point or two going through YEG and I get two flight segments.

We showed up at the YVR airport and all was good and then when we arrived at the gate we learned that they had an equipment change and they placed us on a direct flight YVR-YXE for half an hour later. Bags have already been moved we are good to go. I said that I had a lounge pass for YEG and this did not work for me as I would have to wait two hours for my wife to arrive in YXE as she was flying WJ. They said it would help them out and they rewarded us by putting both of us in J class and we can use the YVR MLL for twenty minutes before we boarded, no MLL in YXE (this really sucks)!

So I get one flight segment and 768 miles instead of two segments and 1,000 miles and wasted $31.50! This helped out AC and did nothing for me. I did not see the value for me, in fact he interfered with my day. Flying on a CRA with a nine year old beside me is like a J seat, lots of room except that I could not plug my net book into the teh front of the seat. The fruit tray was nice, the six bags of cashews were great, I had no booze and my son received a tin of pringles. The service from the FA was second to none. Should I ask for what I booked for or is this simply petty? What if I am short one segment for the bonus points or for AP*E?
