Thanks for your recomendations. I'm certainly going to take a second look at the Peninsula. My main Concerns of the tourist crowds seem unfounded. I was very disappointed at Raffles but this has filled me with confidence.

Bali is still up in the air. I watched a great feature on LuxTV about the Amankila not that long ago and it does look absolutely beautiful. However, I need to be realistic with my budget and this would tip me over.
The 4S Jimbaran is a more realistic option for me. I'll take a good look at it when I get home tonight.

Foodwise, can you recommend anywhere other than the restaurants inhouse at the Pen and 4S?
