I am at the Plaza Athenee right now and here are my observations:

• The French restaurant Reflexions is closed until August 27 as the chef is on vacation and they want “to maintain quality” The Thai restaurant (Smooth Curry) is closed until further notice. So limited cuisine experience for people booking under Eat + Drink = Stay Free.
• True, one hot item at the executive lounge happy hour food offerings. Also, with the exception of the Greek fellow (Khun Teddy), the entire staff at the executive lounge if they move any slower, they would be sleep-walking!!!
• You may take the happy hour libations at the Glaz Bar in the lobby between 6-8 PM daily but they don’t offer any happy hour food. Only the executive lounge (on the 26th floor) offers food in addition to beverages. Nice pool & garden area, but no happy hour food or drinks served at the pool or anywhere else except the above.
• You will be charged for the complimentary two pieces of garment laundry per stay unless you bring it to their attention to have it waived. The JW Marriott Bangkok offers 3-pieces of laundry PER DAY as part of the executive privileges and not 2-pieces PER STAY as the RMPA.
• Now, you may access the hotel through Rum Rudee Street (for quicker access to and from lower Sukhumvit) as the street through Athenee Residences has opened.
• Overall a nice property but the occupancy rate is around 40% right now.

Moving on to the Conrad Bangkok today.
