So you wait in line at the baggage office for another 20 minutes until the guy nicely tells you it it's off in the corner and has been waiting patiently to be picked up for 2 hours.
Its a tremendous waste of time - especially when people are waiting to pick you up.
There used to be a baggage guy at DCA that would put early arriving bags next to the original flight - but I havent seen that guy or level of service there for quite some time.
If airlines could find some way to inform you the bag has bent sent ahead of you, or if they would make it a policy to make sure early arriving bags are placed next to their original flight, THEN it would be a great service and convenience and no cause for complaint.
I agree it would be nice but they cant even get an agent to meet the plane to inform people about their connections, I highly doubt this would work out
My bags/s usually come out quick "Priority", but if they dont after some time waiting I simply walk over to the baggage office and check to see if they are over there. Its usually close by.
If as usual I beat the bags to the carousel then I simply walk straight over to the BO and see if they are over there. By the time I get back to the carousel the bags have just started coming out or have yet to, so no time lost having gone over to the BO
I learnt my lesson the hard way, waited once till the carousel stopped and no more bags, great mine are ...., walked over to the BO to file a report and sure enough there they were sitting by the door. After that I dont wait till the carousel stops before checking out the BO. This is with a Domestic flight, Intl no choice but to waste my time till I know all the bags have come out except for mine
