To give yourself some extra time and flexibility, you might try to break the reservation into two reservations. One for the first 3 nights and the second for the last 2 nights. That way, you have the option to cancel the 2 night portion right up till the day you arrive. And you don't have to worry about rate changes or the hotel getting booked or whatever.
