The humour was pointless. I still had to check it in. At least I wasn't charged.
I asked security at LGW and they gave me the same answer. It has to be checked. Yet I have seen many a tennis racquet in the cabin. I think it is one of those frustrating inconsistencies.
You know, more damage could be done with my cane than a tennis racquet. A lot more- it's not a light piece of drug store garbage.
And no one, on any continent, has said anything about it. Security... sure.
ETA: Not to give any one any ideas!
