I'm sharing a room with a colleague at a conference. I'm Diamond, he has no status (w/ Hilton).

I made the reservation, but he's arriving before me. (I'm not scheduled to arrive until midnight.)

This is a DoubleTree hotel with towers. Assuming space is available and the hotel is compliant, will we receive an upgraded room when he checks in, or would the hotel wait for me to check in (then provide us an upgraded room the next day, since we obviously aren't going to change rooms at midnight)?

Anyone have experience with this?
