I am doing this flight (connecting to HKG) in October. Long time NW flyer to Asia. Very happy to have the JFK-NRT nonstop back. I really did not like making the extra stop in MSP or DTW these past couple of years since NW discontinued NW17/18.

On the outbound I have the ER. But on the return it is the LR. I wonder if it is just a lucky fluke for that day, a sometimes thing, or if they are changing to the LR permanently. I have flown this type of seat (the LR seat) on CX. It gets mixed reviews, but I really like it. And I am a big guy with broad shoulders, and narrow space is the main complaint.
