I will be booking the special LH fare. The rules state it can be from any LH US gateway to any LH German gateway then the return can be to any LH North American gateway (i.e. Canada or US). Confirmed it with Oliver.

Originating in ORD to get full AE miles and for opportunity to travel in J. Now just need to decide whether it is actually worth the extra $1,200 US to fly in LH J across the pond.
