Oh, it can get worse. I got mine funded but can't get at the money in checking or savings because they did not send me a debit card despite my bringing this to their attention. And they won't let you set up bill pay without the debit card so I can't do the two required transactions yet, either. Today a genius claimed the card was coming overnight - Sat? Doubt it.
The debit card for my son's account opened after mine came long before his account was funded. Citi is frought with error after error.
This is absolutely incorrect!
I have ALWAYS been able to log in to my account
immediately after opening my account online. Do you not take note of your account number when you create your account? They give it to you in the final step of creating the account. They even say '
print this for your records'. You can use this, you absolutely do NOT need your debit card to log in online. And yes, I even set up online bill pay without having ever received my card. In fact I was able to instantly pay a couple of due credit card bills (well, with the 2 day electronic pay window).
