Another way to verify this is after you select the itinery and move on to the pricing screen you'll find each segment listed has "Cabin / Booking code" entry. You're looking for "First" and F, P or A (typically P) as the booking codes. If you follow the "fare rules" link below the price calculation there will typically be a lot of remarks about First and it will be pretty obvious it's not a coach / economy fare.
I believe AA now only has one domestic aricraft type (767-200) with a 3-class layout, so be careful of anything where the equipment is 762. Finally, also be careful of any short international flights to Mexico, Canada etc. because a lot of these are sold as Business not First and get less TP's.
A once daily DFW-ORD and soon to return, also once daily MIA-DFW are 777, sold as 2 class, where elite OW and full-fare Y can reserve seats in C cabin. Upgrades book into F cabin with AA Flagship Suites.
