I'm curious, what type of compensation does he think would be fair? What would he expect? Schedules change all the time, and I think DL will probably be pretty flexible as far as rescheduling something. Is he upset there was no personal phone call? If this guy is a plat than I am certain he has had schedule changes out the wazoo in the last year, or has been very, very lucky.
Anytime I book a flight more than 3 months out the itin is almost guaranteed to change. I usually get an email. The only time I've received a phone call is a robocall if there is a delay or cancellation on the day of travel.
