I know, I know - my fault for not reading up on the 757, understanding that it is perhaps the slowest and narrowest plane flying across the Atlantic since Lindberg and the Spirit of St Louis, and I should have known about Delta from reading this forum. Just a rant and beware - this flight is no way to travel.
I despise 757s on TATL flights, just too long to be on a single aisled plane. Unfortunately, as others mentioned, all of the airlines do it now, and it does allow for more options TATL.
Not sure why the disdain for DL in this case. The plane was almost certainly an NW convert, and NW has long been known for their old neglected planes. Sit in the back of an NW 747 TPAC some time. While DL may be gutting the World Perks program, the one major benefit for NW fliers from the merger will hopefully be some less disgraceful equipment.
