Maybe the posts you consider personal attacks were intended as disagreements over the medallion program changes by DL. As the director of loyalty programs, Jeff's name is going to come up just as Richard Anderson's does from time to time. There is a difference in questioning an airline employees actions while working in their official capacity at the airline versus personally attacking someone who posts here. In any event, Jeff is a big boy and even has a PR firm. If he wants to engage in a give and take discussion, as I know he is capable of since he did so at the ATL DO, then I don't think there would be near the level of animus that currently exists. If, however, he wants to use FT as a vehicle for press releases, then I think he should expect some criticism.

Each FF program has it's plusses and minuses. There are trade-offs to be made WRT what FF benefits to grant to what level of FFers. DL's benefits are not worse than the other majors (or minors). They are not necessarily better either. They are just different. Better or worse will depend on exactly the value the individual places on each benefit.
If the benefits DL is providing for FFers do not bring value to you as a flyer, then I would suggest that you find a carrier that better fits your needs.
I'm generally pleased with the changes, and I spend money out of my own pocket for upgradable M fares. Maybe DL's objective is to get more customers like me, and let some others customers that are unpleasable and less profitable go to the competition.

In general, I agree with you. I think there has been some rudeness on all sides of these issues. I also think there has been some healthy debate.
