At the end of July I rent a Mercedes A150 KN09XNC at London Stansted Airport.
It seams that the car was not checked right by the local staff because the car had one scratch more then documented on the paperwork. So I showed this Hertz and they confirmed this.
On the paperwork there was also a damaged tyre. I saw this an because no fabric was visible I accepted this car. So I went to Lincolnshire and to York.
A beautiful journey .
As I came back to the HERTZ-rental-station at Stansted Airport the local staff member walked directly to the damaged tyre. That's why I believe it was a cheat. She did not checked anything else. She told me this damage are two damages. One on the wheel cap and another one on the tyre.
You must know this two damages are only centimetres away.
I have tried to explain her that exactly this kind of damage happens if somebody drives over a curbstone. In this case the wheel cap and several centimetres away the tyre will be damaged. But she would not agree to this.
By the way: This tyre has lost more than the half of it's lifetime but
Hertz charged the full price for a new one (EUR 130.- !!!!!)
In the last years I had more then 30 hired car's from different suppliers.
This one was the first one from Hertz AND IT WILL BE THE LAST ONE.
Because I can honestly say that the damage was not from me, this was a cheat. Belive me if this were my fault I would pay it without any discussion !
Does anybody else has the same experience with Hertz UK ?
NEVER EVER HERTZ !
Erwin
