Coming back from Ginza Nikko Hotel perhaps I should do an updated review-
Im not surprised if I was told the only thing they referbished was the rooms. The public area (elevators, lobby+ lobby washroom) is still pretty worn down. Service was good esp re my request for 1. ATM, 2. travel suggestions and 3. cab reservation. Umbrellas were also offered when I set off for Tsukiji Market at 4.30 am in rain/rainstorm.
The only thing is that I couldn't check-in early. I managed to get soaking wet just from walking from Shimbashi JR to the hotel. which was (only) a 2 tokyo block walk so I could only sort myself out in the lobby washroom.
Room was good: clean and tidy- reasonable size in Tokyo scale with plenty of room to manouvre.
The only gripe, is the 7 or so steps right at the front door. Dont seem to me is there a waay to get around it.
