Actually that looks like one of UA's tidier planes although the fact that it has been painted into the new livery seems a little odd. Most of their shabbier birds are in the old livery. I'm something of an old hand now at flying UA and the majority of their 752s are in a sorry state of repair on the outside.
That said I've only ever had one MX delay on UA and their safety record is good so I don't correlate exterior appearance to safety. DL for example have recently repainted some of their DC-9s that they inherited as part of the NW merger and I will move heaven and earth to avoid flying on one of their polished turds.
