OMG! This thread has summed up all my bottled-up frustrations since moving to HKG over 3 years ago and regularly experiencing first hand the supposed "civilisation" that is touching down at Check Lap Kok... but didn't have the courage to express out loud.
Another gripe... once you exit the plane, out come the mobile phones and you encounter individuals yelling into them (or groups at each other!) in loud Cantonese or Putonghua! For some reason, talking discretely isn't in their blood. If you hadn't realize you've arrived at HKG, well, you surely know by then!

Far from being arrogant, the OP is expressing the lack of courtesy when such incidences happen on the aircraft. Courtesy would be to let those who intend to disembark from the plane, move into the aisle orderly by row from the exit. I've personally seen people sitting at the window seats desperately try to set foot on the aisle, only to be exasperated and stalled by the stream of passengers pushing from the back of the aircraft that appear to not want give way.
